Frequently Asked Questions

Pure Water has amazing intrinsic cleaning qualities, which is why it is used throughout the cleaning industry, not just in the window-cleaning field. So Pure Water window cleaning is perfect for removing day to day grime that builds up on our homes due to weather and environmental factors etc, keeping our windows and doors in prime condition. However, our cleaning method won’t remove plaster splatters, paint spatters, stickers (or the residue stickers leave behind) or ivy sucker marks from where clinging plants have previously grown for example. You get the idea.

Yes! Its true! Please don't worry about this; it's totally normal for Pure Water Window Cleaning. Tap water is full of impurities like chlorine, sodium, phosphates, calcium etc. We clean with water that has gone through an extensive water purifying process to remove all of these impurities. This means that we can leave Pure Water on the glass to dry naturally. As the Pure Water evaporates from the glass it leaves no impurities behind on the glass (which is what causes unsightly spots and marks). This method of cleaning ensures a streak-free shine, without having to squeegee off the water after each clean. (For more information on how Pure Water Window Cleaning works, please see our 'Pure H2O Technology’ page').

No, we transport our own purified water in tanks in our vans to each clean. However, on especially dirty first cleans if there is a hose pipe available for use, we may use this initially to wash off the majority of the debris from the windows and doors, before going in with the Pure Water to complete the clean. But there is no need for the customer to have their own water supply.

The quickest way to get a window cleaning quote is to fill out the enquiry form on the 'Get a Quote/Contact us’ page and upload pictures of each side of your home, showing all windows and doors to be cleaned. We can then email your quote straight over to you. Alternatively, we can pop out to have a look at your property in person, and then email your quote over to you. Commercial properties often require a site visit for us to provide an accurate quote.

Velux window cleaning is an add-on service. So If you requested Velux window cleaning during the quoting process, your ‘Welcome / Confirmation’ email will have stated that your quote includes Velux windows.

On the quote form we ask you to include only Velux windows that are reachable with our poles from ground level without the use of ladders. If when we come to clean we cannot reach your Velux from ground level, we will let you know and adjust your clean price accordingly.

Please keep in mind that Velux windows may not clean up to the same standard as other vertical windows and doors because we cannot apply any pressure to the glass during the cleaning process. The only pressure applied to the glass comes from the weight of the brush head and pole and gravity.

If you would like to clean inaccessible Velux windows yourself, we recommend that you spin the Velux window over and clean them from the inside. To view a short video which shows you how to spin a Velux window safely just click here to go to the Velux Cleaning video.”

Did you complete a GoCardless direct debit mandate after receiving your quote? And did you receive a 'Welcome' email from us informing you of your first clean date? We need an active direct debit mandate in place before we carry out any regular window cleaning. Once this is set up we send our “Welcome” email informing you of your first clean date. If you haven’t set up Gocardless yet, simply go to our ‘Payment’ page and do so now, and we can get you booked in!

We collect payment for our regular window cleaning service via GoCardless direct debit. In your quote email will be a link you can click on to set up your Gocardless direct debit mandate. You can also visit our website “Payments” page and set up your direct debit there. It’s super easy to do, only taking a couple of minutes. Payment is taken about 5 days after each clean. (See GoCardless FAQ’s below for more information)

One-off cleans for non-regular window cleaning customers are payable in advance of the clean. Just head over to our ‘Payments' page and make a card payment. Or give us a call and we can take payment over the phone.

The 4pm reminder text is a free service we offer our customers to remind them to leave their gates unbolted for us the following morning. It is an automated text, so can’t be replied to. This text isn't an invitation to cancel your clean for the next day, but if for some reason you can’t provide access to your home the following day, please contact us using our ‘Contact Us’ page to let us know BEFORE 6pm. After 6pm all work for the following day is scheduled and worksheets printed and distributed. If we receive word from you after 6pm, we can't at this point change the schedule I'm afraid. We will call the following day as planned and clean all accessible windows and charge the full clean price.

Yes, we clean windows in the rain! Unlike the traditional method of window cleaning you may be used to, our Pure Water Window Cleaning system is unaffected by rain as rain is also pretty much pure.

This means that our service is largely unaffected by the weather, so we can provide you with a regular cleaning service! If we encounter extreme weather like torrential rain, deep snow or high winds, we may reschedule your clean.

Remember we offer a 24 hour re-clean guarantee, so if you feel cleaning in the rain did effect your clean you can call us back for a free re-clean (as long as you call us back within 24 hours of the initial clean).

We send a "no reply" automated reminder text to all our customers the day before we are due to clean. This is to remind you to leave the gate unlocked the following day. If we arrive to site and can't gain access to the rear of your property because your gate is locked, we will clean all accessible windows and charge the full clean price as we can’t at this point, book any work in to the day to replace your clean.

Yes, we can normally clean hard to reach windows safely from the ground. A general rule of thumb is that if we can see the window in its entirety (from where the cleaner would stand to clean) and if there is room for the cleaner to manoeuvre his pole, then the likelihood is that we can reach to clean it. If your conservatory or extension is particularly deep this might restrict access to certain windows.

Yes, we offer a regular garage door cleaning service. So you can choose to have your garage door cleaned every 4 or 8 weeks along with your windows. We usually charge £2 per single garage door and £4.00 per double garage door.

No, there is no contract to sign. All we ask is that you have at least three window cleans with us (unless we have agreed to carry out a one-off window clean for you). You can cancel at any time after the three cleans. Just let the office know. Please note that if you cancel your service before 3 cleans have been carried out, the remaining cleans will still be payable.

We spend as long as is needed on every clean to provide a high quality clean. Because of this, it’s very hard to predict how long each clean will take to complete, especially first cleans. This is why we are unable to specify a time of arrival. Just leave your gate unbolted for the day and we will be able to crack on once we arrive. We clean windows from 7.30am to 5.00pm.

No, your window clean can fall on any day of the week that we are cleaning in your area, between the hours of 7.30am - 5pm. – However, some of our customers say they can set their watches by us we are so regular.

It’s likely you will get the same cleaner most of the time, but due to holidays, sick leave, paternity leave and round optimisation it is not always possible to have the same window cleaner on each visit. We pride ourselves on offering a regular 4 or 8 weekly service, and to do so it might be necessary that a different cleaner steps in to carry out your clean.

If you have no gate for rear access we can still offer our window cleaning services to you but it may have limitations. We don’t pull our long hoses through our customer’s houses. We can however bring hoses through garages or utility rooms with hard flooring. If you are not home on the day of the clean (and the garage or utility doors are locked) we would clean any accessible windows and charge the full clean price. We also provide a “Front Only” clean for homes where access is an issue. Sorry but we don't offer an appointment service for regular window cleaning.

Yes, we offer "One-Off" cleans. "One-Off" cleans are 2.5 times the price of our regular window cleaning prices. Some customers who only want a "one-off" clean will book our regular window cleaning service to benefit from the reduced price, but have the mandatory 3 cleans before cancellation.

Your windows, frames and sills should look significantly better and very clean. If your last window cleaner used soapy water and a cloth to clean your windows or your windows haven't been cleaned for a long time you might notice a few spots or watermarks when the water has dried. This is totally normal. After the second or third clean your windows should be sparkling clean. Please note that there might always be one or two water spots left on the glass, this is the trade off between quality and safety.

Sometimes dirty runs can appear on your glass after we have left your home. This is because the Pure Water is continuing to work like a magnet drawing out the dirt from the seals etc. If any worrying runs appear just call us back within 24 hours so we can assess the clean and re-clean any problem areas for you.

For more information on what to expect from Pure Water Window Cleaning, please head over to our 'Pure H2O Technology’ page.

On our first visit, we apply a powerful foaming cleaning solution to all frames, sills and doors that gets in to all the nooks and crannies. We allow this to sit for a short while and then use Pure Water with our extendable poles and specially designed brush head to gently but effectively scrub away all the dirt. This dirt is then rinsed away with Pure Water. The extra we charge for the first clean goes toward covering some of the extra time involved in a first clean.

No, unfortunately not. Our Pure Water cleaning system is designed to remove everyday dirt, not sticky tape, cement, paint, silicone, mortar etc.

If you think we’ve accidentally missed one of your windows just let us know within 24 hours and we’ll come back to clean it. Be sure to check that the marks you see on the window aren’t on the inside of the window or actually between the windowpanes (in the case of a failed glazed unit). Please note that there might always be one or two water spots left on the glass, this is the trade off between quality and safety.

Cancelling your GoCardless mandate doesn’t automatically cancel your cleaning service. So if you decide to end our services, please just let us know by filling out the online form on our 'Get your quote / Contact Us' page. Please let us know the reason for the cancellation, as this will help us to keep improving our services. If you are cancelling because you are not happy with your clean, please remember we offer a 24 hour re-clean guarantee for every clean we complete. This is how we ensure we keep our customers happy. If you are moving house locally, why not take us with you? Just let us know via the online contact form.

GoCardless Direct Debit FAQ’S

We used to accept all forms of payment, but for a long time now all new residential customers have been required to pay for their window cleaning service by GoCardless direct debit. GoCardless direct debit is the best and safest way to pay. With GoCardless you don’t have to remember to pay your window-cleaning bill, and we are never chasing you for payments. Payment is only taken if we have cleaned your windows. And you are covered by the direct debit guarantee.

No, unlike traditional direct debits where payment is taken on the same date each month automatically, we have to request payment after each clean we complete. So if we don’t clean, no payment will be taken.

Yes, you have complete control over GoCardless direct debit as you would with any direct debit.
Cancelling your GoCardless direct debit mandate doesn’t automatically cancel your window cleaning service though, so if you wish to end our services, just let us know using the online form on our 'Get your quote / Contact Us' page.

Please remember though that we do require a customer to have three cleans before cancellation if they opt for our regular window cleaning service.
