Do you get repeatedly asked to review a product or service, and wonder “Why are you pestering me?” “Why are customer reviews so important?”
Well, these days, everything is online. So in order to find a decent product or service, you generally have to search the web. And one of the most effective ways to get your business noticed by potential customers is through online reviews.
Without google reviews, a business can get lost amongst all the other competing businesses. Google reviews are one very important factor in deciding where Google will rank a business website. The more reviews you have, the more visible you will be on google (generally). This makes is easier for potential customers to find you and book your services.
Importantly, about 98% of consumers read online reviews before making a purchase.
Positive online reviews are a massive help to us at Pure Water Window Cleaning Ltd. This is because potential customers are (rightly) heavily influenced by what other people have to say about our business. It’s hard to display personality or put a face to our business without them. So, when a customer reviews our window cleaning service, or another service we provide, and includes details like the name of their cleaner, and how they interacted with them etc, it helps promote our services. It also helps potential customers to choose Pure Water Window Cleaning over other companies.
Any service or product provider, will tell you that it can be a real struggle to get customer reviews. Even if your product or service is excellent and your customer service is outstanding, obtaining reviews can be tough. You may be doing everything right, but still, the reviews aren’t streaming in. Some customers may have happily agreed to write you a review, but still; no review. So, you’re probably starting to ask: “why is it so hard to get reviews on Google?”
Well, there are no doubt many reasons. But here are few.
In order for someone to write a review they often need to feel strongly about the product or service provider. And that strong feeling motivates them to take the time to write the review. Unfortunately, we often feel more passionately about a bad experience or product, than a good experience or product. We may be happy with 9 products / services, and fail to write a good review, but then have one bad experience, and be motivated to share that experience in a review.
We may have all fallen in to that pattern at some time. I know I have. So, the above is a generalisation, but potentially one reason why it’s hard to get a good review. (It may be hard to feel so strongly about your window cleaner that you feel motivated to write a review. It is only window cleaning after all😂)
It’s also good to remember that customers can simply forget to leave feedback unless they are tactfully reminded. Even if our customers are thrilled with our service, they are no doubt very busy people. With much to do each day, so leaving a review is probably the last thing on their to-do list.
So, in an effort to get more reviews, we send out reminder emails on a semi-regular basis. As the saying goes; “If you don’t ask – you don’t get!”
So, if you are one of our customers, you will at some point receive a request to review our services.
Some people don’t have or use a Google account. So that’s why we give our customers the option of reviewing us on Facebook as well. Hopefully, they will have either a Google account or a Facebook account, so can review us using one of these means.
A good review is one that gives future customers enough information to evaluate a business’s service. So, this would include a rating and enough information to show the reviewees customer experience. They could also note how the company dealt with them etc. The best reviews are detailed and help new customers understand what sets this company apart from its competition.
